The EEA-PAM-561-D-32 is one of the various EEA-PAM power amplifiers from Eaton under the Vickers brand name. The D-series amplifier has a Eurocard design for easy and fast installation. It is capable of replacing two conventional electronic cards and is fitted with PID modules. Except for the gain feature, the unit is in complete sync with its corresponding A-series power amplifier from the same manufacturer. The unit needs only a single 24V power supply for its operation. One key advantage of this device is that it takes up less space in the rack enclosure.

The power amplifier operates as an integrated general-purpose module that can be configured in multiple ways with many DIL switches and potentiometers.  The inbuilt test feature helps in easy diagnosis of the amplifier for its proper functioning. The front panel also consists of several LEDs that light up in different colors and various monitor points. The sensors have one megaohm analog input impedance. The amplifier is apt for use with the manufacturer’s KFDGV-5/7 valves for closed-loop position and velocity control applications in hydraulic operations. The unit has a ramp generator and two dedicated potentiometers for setting the command ramp values up and down. When there is an overload, LVDT failure or sensor failure, the corresponding LED gets lit up in red. Two LEDs get lit up in green when there is a 24V input power supply and a 15V output control supply. The amplifier has less than or equal to 100mA digital output load current. This output must be used only along with sensors that have current output in the range of 4mA to 20mA.
