Product Description
SC723B001-01 is a four-quadrant servo controller with a modular design in Pacific Scientific’s SC720 series. The single-axis 7 series servo controller uses cable wires in the size range of #18AWG to #14AWG for connection. The unit has a torque/velocity controller with encoder emulator function code and a 14-bit RDC with 4096 ppr option code. It also features 7.5A continuous current rating and 15A peak current rating. The device is 16.75 inches tall and weighs approximately 16 pounds.
The UL Recognized servo controller is a great option for use in harsh industrial environments. The controller is particularly suitable with the manufacturer’s huge range of ferrite and rare earth series of brushless servo motors. The servo controller can have high voltage levels of more than 230VDC and/or 400VAC. The unit must always be stored at a temperature ranging between -25°C and 85°C in its carton. If the NEMA mounting cabinet used for installation is ventilated, there must be conditioned or filtered air circulation so that there is no accumulation of dirt and dust.
The transformerless servo controller must not be powered up without its cover on. Similarly, the power supply must be cut off before the cover is removed from the unit. The device has a 7 segment controller status display and a high bandwidth at the output stage. It comes along with inbuilt fans, an internal power supply and a shunt regulator. When unpacking the unit, make sure that all the packing materials are completely removed. The controller has a label on the side that specifies the model number, date code and serial number of the unit. There are seven input/output cables that help in connecting the device to the appropriate device. It is ideal to use a cable with four connectors that are twisted with three to four turns for every inch as the motor cable.
