Product Description
SC723A-001-PM72004 is a 7 series servo controller with analog setup and adjustment type personality mode designator. The unit is a part of the wide range of SC720 series of servo controllers from Pacific Scientific. The servo controller has a standard unit customization code, a 12-bit RDC with 1024 ppr option code and a velocity/torque controller with encoder emulator function code. The four-quadrant device has a modular design and encompasses a shunt regulator and an internal power supply.
The servo controller features 15A peak current rating, 7.5A continuous current rating and 35W power dissipation at 50% of rated continuous current. The controller must be mounted in a 10 inch deep NEMA cabinet that is used for industrial applications. The cabinet must be free of excessive shock or vibration and be placed on a solid and flat surface vertically with the ability to withstand the unit’s 16 pounds weight. The controller must be mounted to the cabinet with the mounting slots provided by using #10 or 1/4-20 bolts. It has a 0.75 inches clearance space for the connectors. At the full rated output current, the device operates at a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C.
The motor cable used to connect the controller with the motor can be shielded to lessen the radiated noise. The servo controller is compatible with the manufacturer’s R series of brushless servomotors with rare earth magnets and low inertia. Before removing the cover of the device, turn off the power supply and wait for five minutes so that the internal voltages are discharged completely. The controller must be stored in its shipping carton in a dry and clean place. The inbuilt fans prevent the unit from getting heated up when used for a long time period. All adjustments of the controller are made on the personality module.
