The SC453-004-05 is one of Kollmorgen’s programmable brushless servo controller. Its functionality is affected significantly by how the installation process is carried out. As such, you should ensure that the solid surface you mount on is stable and strong enough to support at least 5kgs, which is the controller’s weight. Also, you should leave a minimum of unobstructed space all around the controller. Kollmorgen recommends 10 cm below and above the controller and 2.5 cm on either side of the unit. The vertical orientation of the controller should always be maintained. The ideal installation height stands at 1500 meters above sea level. The SC453-004-05 does not require insertion tool but uses connectors for J1 and J2 instead.

Now to the environmental conditions, the ambient operating temperature at 100% rating is 0 to 50 °C while when derating is linearly done from 100% to 70%, you need to maintain the temperature at 50 to 60⁰C. 0 to 60 °C is ideal if you are to maintain the output rated current at 70%. The SC453-004-05 controller’s peak output current is 15 Amps and the output ripple frequency is 15 kHz.
