One of the popular 400 Series of Brushless Servo Controllers, the SC402-023-T4 is designed to operate Permanent Magnetic Brushless Servo Motors, the Pacific Scientific Brushless Servo Motors. It is a stand-alone and an independent unit which has the ability of four quadrant control of each PM Brushless Servo motor.
The shunt regulator ensures peak power (0.3 seconds) of 1500 W and has the continuous power 20W. The SC402-023-T4 has greater than 90% efficiency (@ rated continuous power) and has a form factor less than 1.01. Current loop bandwidth is of the SC402-023-T4 is 3 kHz maximum which is great. The velocity off set is almost adjustable to zero, its velocity offset drift (referred to input) is 50 uV/C typ. and velocity input command is +/-10V. This servo motor controller has a output ripple frequency of 20 kHz and it’s fault output is 30VDC.
When you operate the Pacific Scientific Brushless Servo Motors you need to pay closer attention to the mechanical aspects of the controller. The SC402-023-T4 must be mounted vertically. A total of three slots are given for mounting the controller on a cabinet vertically or a on a wall.All the signals to the SC402-023-T4 are made through plug-in connectors on the front panel. It’s Command and Feedback signals are carefully interfaced using 8 contact and 15 contact plug-in connectors respective with the 0.1” contact centers. The power connections for the servo motor and its input power source are designed on two 10 contact plug-in connectors with 0.156” contact centers.
