The S31HNNA-HSNS-04, a high performance servo motor, is proudly engineered by Pacific Scientific. This servo motor features a brushless design complete with a torque range from 0.5 to 6.6 Nm. Further, this motor is not only available in two distinct frame sizes, it is available with metric and NEMA 23 & 34 mounting faces. The S31HNNA-HSNS-04 is able to support a substantial amount of torque even though the size of the motor is small and compact.

This high performance servo motor, along with other motors like it, have a wide array of useful features that are ultimately beneficial to the operator. As stated, the S31HNNA-HSNS-04 is brushless in design. This brushless design makes the replacement and maintenance of brushes throughout the life of the unit unnecessary. In turn, this servo motor can comfortably withstand the harsh environment of the factory floor. Moreover, this motor is capable of supporting torque across a wide spectrum of speed. As a result, the machine’s throughput is significantly improved. The S31HNNA-HSNS-04 high performance servo motor also features an anti-cog design. This allows for smooth, low-speed operation.

Additional useful features supported by the S31HNNA-HSNS-04 include the motor’s Class H insulation, global approvals, agency recognition, as well as an overtemperature thermistor. Class H insulation is extremely useful as it prohibits the unit to last longer and reduces the amount of downtime that may be required of a machine. Furthermore, the overtemperature thermistor is installed within the unit in order to protect the motor against any potential damage. Global approvals and agency recognition allow the machine to recognize and process information more easily. A multiple feedback option and brake option is also available. This not only improves the safety of the overall machine but it allows for different control methods.
