Product Description
Kollmorgen servomotors are highly maintainable and designed to last long. One of these is the R63GENA-R2-NS-VS-00, which is a brushless servomotor of the R-series category. This category of Kollmorgen servomotors are known to have the highest torque to inertia ratios and dynamic response. Coupled with compatible servo drives, also from Kollmorgen, these motors can be operated to achieve their full and impressive mechanical and electrical capacities.
The features of this motor are characterized by the sequence of codes in its name. The R63 indicates an R60 series servomotor with a samarium-cobalt magnet type. It has a motor frame width of approximately 6 inches and a magnet stack length of 3 inches. It comes with an English shaft and mount type, and no holding brake. The shaft is equipped with a Viton shaft seal, which ensures proper oil sealing from the shaft.
At high temperature levels and due to continuous power operations, the heat absorbed by the shaft bearings can cause the lubrication oils to melt; this could spill over to the shaft and cause load shifting during operations. By using this shaft seal, accurate load holding is guaranteed even in the absence of the holding brake. This motor can produce a continuous stall torque of up to 8.3Nm, a rated speed of 3,400 rpm, and a maximum torque capacity of 20.5Nm. It has a maximum static friction of 0.16Nm, which is equally useful in load retention/holding during power off sessions. The winding can handle a peak and stall current of 33A and 11A respectively, and the peak current is generated during maximum torque output. This motor also offers a good level of precision via an inclusive frameless resolver, transmitter-type (size 21). With all standard motor parts, this servomotor is functional and cost-effective.
