Product Description
Servo motors built by Pacific Scientific were built by their engineers to last a long time and give users maintenance-free operations. In fact, one they are installed, chances are you’ll never have to take a second look at them.
In this article, we will take a look at one specific motor, the R22GENA-R1-NS-NV-01, and how they are a cut above the rest!
The R22GENA-R1-NS-NV-01 is a proud member of the R20 series of servomotors and boasts features such as an overtemperature-protection thermistor, a low-inertia samarium-cobalt rotor, and a class H high-temperature insulation.
Motors in this series are also brushless and cover a continuous torque range from 0.3 to 1.1Nm. For this reason, motors in this series are well suited for a variety of applications, especially where high acceleration and torque are of great importance.
If you want to dig deeper into this motor however, you will have to look closely at its codename. So what does the name R22GENA-R1-NS-NV-01 tell us?
At first glance, you will notice the characters “R22”. The R simply means that it is a part of the R series of motors. The first 2 is the motor OD to the nearest inch and the second 2 is the magnet stack length to the nearest inch.
G represents its windings code, E represents the shaft and mounting which is in English and NA means that it is factory preassigned.
R1 means that the resolver in the R22GENA-R1-NS-NV-01 is frameless, transmitter type, size 15, while NS means that there is no secondary.
NV means that there is no shaft sealing while 01 is a sequence number which means that it has standard freestanding MS connectors on end of flying leads.
