The PWM3624-5437-7-1 permanent magnet DC motor from Pacific Scientific comes with a simple, yet rugged construction. The PWM type motor is available with a factory assigned enclosure and offers high acceleration and starting torque. The unit features 120VDC voltage rating, 2HP power rating and 3600RPM maximum rotating speed. It encompasses Class H insulation. The commutator is fused to prevent it from getting detached from the motor.

The DC motor includes an armature with polyester impregnation that assures mechanical and electrical integrity. The device also houses a large gasket-sealed conduit box that serves as a wiring compartment for large sealed bearings. The brush springs render constant force which ensures a long life. It is fitted with field-replaceable brushes. The pressure of the springs on the commutator supplies the required current to the armature by establishing a mechanical contact with the commutator bars. The surrounding field flux produced by the permanent magnets do away with an external field current. The brushes along with the commutator serve as a rotary switch for activating the windings.
