Product Description
The N32HLLK-LNK-NS-01 motor produced by Pacific Scientific is a standard hybrid stepper motor with high torque capacity with respect to its frame size.
The motor showcases the superior design of Pacific Scientific motors in terms of its physical and performance specifications. It has a frame size equivalent to the standard NEMA 34 motor size, and it features a two-stack rotor with a heavy duty standard NEMA mount. The motor has a rugged design with a splash proof and IP65 protection. It is hooked up to a terminal board via a conduit connector, and for the winding option, it comes with a bi-polar series lead (4 leads/windings) with ‘K’ type winding.
It uses a single shaft type with a keyway, along with a shaft seal at the motor’s rear end. Also, it has a laminated rotor and no encoder feedback for closed loop control. For the motor’s performance: it can produce a holding torque of 8.79Nm and a small detent torque of 0.25Nm. The detent torque is meant to aid deceleration but is kept small to maximize torque output. It is rated in terms of its phase current, resistance, and inductance as: 3A, 1.8 ohms, 20.6mH. The increased resistance and inductance values are due to its series winding, which helps to protect against large currents that could cause excess heating. The motor also has a rotor inertia of 2.7 ×10-4 kgm2 which allows it a maximum loading inertia of 2.7 ×10-3 kgm2 for a 10:1 inertia ratio compliance. This ensures good performance.
The N32HLLK-LNK-NS-01 is not designed to be the fastest of its variants, especially due to its series connection. The goal is to produce an efficient stepper motor that maximizes the lifespan of its components via a good heating and cooling policy, while delivering a significant holding torque.
