Product Description
Precision and good torque capacity, these are important features for selecting stepper motors. For industrial or general applications that require a high incremental motion resolution, good torque capacity and a portable frame size, the Powermax II hybrid steppers by Pacific Scientific are always the right choice.
The P22NRXB-LDN-NS-00 motor is a part of the Powermax II line, and it offers excellent performance, durability and ruggedness. Designed in the standard NEMA 23 frame dimensions, it comes with a double rotor stack and a NEMA mount (standard type). It has the general type of construction for a Powermax motor, along with a socket/receptacle for electrical connectors. Based on its type of stator winding, this motor has a detent torque of 0.049Nm and can generate a holding torque of up to 1.51Nm -- which is the highest torque capacity within the ranks of the P-type Powermax II step motors. A lower holding torque of 1.07Nm can also be achieved via a unipolar connection of this motor’s windings. Since loading range is related to the torque capacity, this motor is fitted with a standard rotor type, which is laminated for high efficiency and to allow loading moment of inertia of up to 2.5×10-4 kgm2. This gives a 10:1 inertia ratio range which indicates good sizing per application, although a smaller ratio is better. For double loading options, this motor has a shaft with two ends: this could also be configured for load and encoder support, depending on intended use.
The general class-B type insulation of this motor allows it to operate at temperatures up to 130℃, although the recommended ambient temperature is 40℃. This motor at default does not support feedback via an optical encoder and is more suitable for applications with a reduced requirement for closed loop position control.
