The M22NSLS-LDN-M1-02 is a high power stepper motor for rapid acceleration and high torque requirements. The motor belongs to the NEMA 23 category of stepper motors. The M22NSLS-LDN-M1-02 comes from the POWERMAX II stepper series produced by the company. The motor can generate a considerably high amount of torque as compared to other motors of the same size. This because of a new and optimized motor design that accommodates additional permanent magnets in stator slots. This motor has been equipped with neodymium iron boron permanents magnets that are known for high magnetic flux and high energy density. This results in an exceptional performance by the motor where reciprocating motion is required. The motor is also highly suitable for rapid acceleration and deceleration.

The M22NSLS-LDN-M1-02 comes with an octagonal motor design. The motor comes with a rear shaft extension option as well. A large, 6.3 mm diameter shaft has been used in this motor. Because of the greater shaft diameter, the motor becomes better equipped to handle radial and axial loads. The motor's fatigue life is also enhanced by the use of oversized, 30 mm bearings as compared to the traditional 22 mm size used in NEMA 23 steppers. Special attention has been given to the motor's heat dissipation capacity. Firstly, a polymer encapsulated stator has been used that accelerated heat transfer. Secondly, exposed lamination aids have been chosen for this model. These two features combine to form an excellent heat dissipation mechanism that keeps the motor’s temperature within suitable ranges even after long periods of usage.
