Product Description
The PMB31B-10114-00 is one of Pacific Scientific’s various brushless servomotors. The servomotor belongs to the B series of motors from the manufacturer. The company offers different types of motors with varying specifications to meet almost all requirements. The high-performance motor is typically suited for high volume and light industrial applications.
The synchronous motor is enclosed in a frame of NEMA size 34 with IP40 construction style and features multiple stack length along with B type winding. The standard unit has a nominal stall current of 2.7A and works at a maximum bus voltage of 240VAC or 320VDC. The device encompasses a round shaft and 18” flying leads with AMP connectors for electrical connectivity and feedback. It also comprises a digital encoder with commutation and 2048ppr as its sensor. The motor is compatible with PC3403, SC9x2/SCE9x2 and PC8x2 servo drives. It can be connected to a servo drive using a shielded 18 AWG power cable and a shielded 26 AWG feedback cable. The cable has a minimum bend radius of 57.2mm. The ambient operating temperature of the cost-effective unit is 25°C.
The lightweight 2.5kg servomotor encompasses eight poles and magnets made of a combination of neodymium, iron and boron to produce maximum torque. The motor features a typical rated speed of 2,900 RPM, a typical rated torque of 1.9Nm, a line-to-line inductance of 19.6mH and a line-to-line resistance of 76 ohms. It also has a current rating of 8A at a maximum torque of 6.26Nm, maximum static friction of 0.09Nm, a thermal time constant of 28 minutes and a thermal resistance of 1.08 deg. C/watt. The brushless motor has an overall size of 5.28 inches and very low inertia of 0.137kgm2 x 10-3. It is recommended to use four #10 size socket lead or fillister lead cap screws for mounting the motor.
