Product Description
The PC840 family of servo-drives from Kollmorgen manufacturing have all the basic capacities of the PC800 servo-drives, with some improvements. They can be considered as a custom upgrade in terms of high speed and real-time motion control via the SERCOS interface. Measuring at 198.1mm and 157.9mm for length and breadth respectively, the PC840-type servo-drives are rectangular in structure and wider than their contemporary PC800 & PC830 servo-drives.
The PC842-001-F has the following specifications based on its type code: The PC842 suggests that it is an all-digital DSP-based servo-drive with a rugged PLC-like input/output interface design. It has a velocity loop bandwidth of 400Hz, with IGBT power-stage for more efficiency and reduced operation noise (inaudible). Using the SERCON816 ASIC interface for its SERCOS connectivity, this drive allows noise-immune network speeds of up to 16KHz. In terms of power levels, it can deliver RMS currents of 2.7A and 5.3A for continuous and peak operations; this is within the recommended (25-40)℃ operating temperature. The peak operation is possible for a period of 5 seconds to avoid overheating; however, the drive can dissipate heat via natural convection. At a voltage rating of 240v AC, the peak output power is at 2.25kw (for 1 second). For continuous operation, the output power is at 1.1kw for both single phase and 3-phase AC connections at 240v and 98% power stage efficiency.
The PC842-001-F drive comes with all standard units based on its unit customization code ‘001’, and it uses a terminal block adapter and D-sub for feedback. This drive is well protected with rush-current limiting, overtemperature protection, under-voltage protection, etc. This ensures that it keeps delivering at the expected level of reliability and quality, with an extensive lifespan.
