Product Description
The Pacific Scientific PC832-001-N drive, like every one of Pacific Scientifics’ high performance drive, is easy to set up with no problems associated. It can be connected to the PC using a RS-232 cable or a 3 wire cable. In addition to being easy to set up, this drive is also easy to install and configure; in any case of a highlighted variable, help is very easy to get. Its power board connection has L1 (240/120 VAC Control Power) and L2 (240/120 VAC Control Power) Alternating Circuit, AC power: These terminals help to connect the 240/120 VAC power provided by the user to the power supply of the drive’s control voltage. The control voltage of this drive’s controllers is input to a switching power supply which will accept voltages within the range of 85 to 256 Vac.
This drive also has a Chassis Ground with a pin TB1-3, labelled PE, M4 x 12 screws with flat and lock washer which offers a convenient point for the user to connect the control and bus power which provides protection for the earth ground. The local electrical code may require using the earth chassis stud in which case the pin is directly connected to the chassis and by implication to the Chassis ground stud.
The regeneration interface terminals provide points to which external resistors( which goes from + B to R) can be connected so as to absorb energy from the motor. The –B is usually left open. Note: These are very high voltages. The external regen resistor models PC8x3 and PC8x4 each have a resistance of
12.5 Ω ( ±10%), 200 W, 1,500 V Isolation. For safety, these resistors should be mounted on earthened panels.
