Product Description
The 55NM82-004-5 is a permanent magnet DC servomotor from Pacific Scientific. The manufacturer has a vast range of different types of motors to its credit and has established its presence worldwide with its products. The low inertia motor does not include an analog tachometer. The unit is fitted with a dual-channel optical encoder that has no zero index. The encoder is capable of generating square signals. We can deliver the motor to any address worldwide, through our team of trusted delivery agents. The servo motor comes with a one-year warranty period.
The servomotor comes with factory assigned current rating, sequence number, and voltage rating. Alnico V-7 material is used to design the permanent magnet that is therein the motor. The 55NM series motor does not have any provision to support forced air-cooling. The diameter of the shaft varies between 0.469 and 0.531 inches at the drive-end bearing journal. The permanent magnet in the unit generates the magnetic field that is used for the functioning of the motor. A permanent magnet DC motor is typically installed in battery powered remote cars and small appliances.
The magnetic fields produced by permanent magnets have a fixed strength. Hence, they cannot be externally controlled. Therefore, DC motors with permanent magnets do not support field control and these motors can be used only in applications where there is no need to control their speed. The two parts of a PMDC motor are its stator and an armature or rotor. The stator is usually designed to be a steel cylinder while the armature is equipped with brushes and a commutator to change the direction of current flow. The permanent magnets of the motor are located in the steel cylinder inside its inner periphery. This cylinder acts as a return path with low reluctance for magnetic flux.
