Product Description
The 55NM81-020-5-CTRL is a low inertia servomotor from Pacific Scientific in its 55NM series. The DC servomotor makes use of permanent magnets designed using Alnico V-7 magnetic material. There is no support for forced air cooling. The motor has no optical encoder and is equipped with an analog tachometer. It comes with a pre-assigned sequence number. The shaft has a diameter ranging between 0.469 inches and 0.53 inches at the drive end. We can deliver the servomotor to any address worldwide through our team of trusted delivery agents.
The servomotor has a continuous current in 3.1A to 5.7A range and an 18V to 36V voltage rating. The permanent magnets are housed in the stator directly and not on the stator winding. The motor has 0.01 oz-in rotor inertia. It weighs close to 10lbs. The unit is widely deployed in applications where motor speed control is not required. The stator of a permanent magnet motor usually takes the form of a steel cylinder. The magnets are located on the inner periphery of the cylinder and are usually stationary. The armature often comes along with brushes and a commutator for switching the direction of the flow of current.
The device is used in toys and also to lower and raise windows in automobiles. The magnets in the motor are aligned in such a way that the south pole and north pole of each magnet face the armature alternatively. The core of the armature or rotor of the motor is made of various steel sheets with slotted circular lamination and varnish insulation. These steel sheets help in reducing the eddy current loss in the rotor to the maximum extent possible. The speed of the motor is controlled by controlling the magnetic field. The motor comes along with a one-year warranty.
