Product Description
The PMDC motors manufactured by Pacific Scientific have identical ratings with the differences in certain dimensions. The input current and the rated voltage across a few models are the same. This includes the PMDC motor with part number 33VM62-000-75. The normal shaft diameter at the drive end is between 0.344 and 0.406 inches, which is around 0.87 cms to 1 cm. The permanent magnet in the motor is made with Alnico V-7 material. Like the other motors in this series, the PMDC servo motor has no provision for forced air cooling. The motor does not come with the Analog Tachometer and the Optical Encoder either.
These precision-manufactured motion control parts last you a lifetime and most don’t need any maintenance. Designed as compact units, they occupy minimum space and when coupled with the appropriate drives, the Pacific Scientific PMDC motors are the perfect components operationally. The manufacturers have taken great pains to provide the motors with the best insulation. The magnets are anti-clogging in nature and the motors in these series are meant to be operated at low speeds. The areas where the motors would be used might also demand such low speed, low inertia PMDC motors.
Ordering a Pacific Scientific PMDC motor may not be easy now since they are not being manufactured. However, the ones that have been used and refurbished can be picked up from authentic sources in the market if you do your due diligence. The effort involves understanding the status of the motor that is being offered. There are practically three versions you will find. A small proportion of the Pacific Scientific PMDC motors would be in original condition sold by shutting down units from their unused inventory. The other source is motors pulled out of running machines, while closing down operations. The last category is when the motors in non-operational condition are repaired, refurbished and now sold. Pick the one that suits you most and place an order.
