Product Description
Pacific Scientific is largely known for the aerospace business it is associated with. In the years gone by, the company’s permanent magnet DC motors or PMDC motors were ever so popular within the industry. The company has moved on and some of these product lines have been acquired by other companies and the products have been rebranded. However, there is still a large body of motors of different types functioning in factories and other work places and the motors are sold and bought in refurbished condition. The PMDC motor bearing part number 3VM62-000-1 is part of this range.
This low inertia PMDC motor in the VM series from Pacific Scientific has a rated current of 3.1 to 5.7 A and voltage ranging between 18 and 36 Volts. Rest of the specifications of the motor are factory assigned and will be done according to the order sheet you fill and send. These parameters relate to the different components connected to the system in your facility. The one feature that can be mentioned here is that this motor with part number 33VM62-000-1 does not have a provision for forced air cooling.
This particular range of DC motors is also designated as low inertia motors. You must be aware of the significance of inertia in a motion control system where the speed at which the object is to be moved and the rated speed of the motor have to be synchronized so that you get the best output. The inertia ratio has to be first calculated based on the different parameters and the selection of the motor depends on that. After the PMDC motors are ordered and installed, the desired level of inertia ratio can be fixed and the system can run.
