Product Description
6410-001-N-N-N is manufactured by Pacific Scientific and helps in converting step and the direction input. This gets converted in the motor winding currents. This helps in controlling the two-phase stepper motor. The product is available with some unique features described below:
Idle Current Reduction – Also referred to as ICR, this helps in enabling or disabling idle current reducing. The feature helps in reducing motor winding current by as much as 50% of the rated value which is through the motor dwell period. ICR starts at 0.1 second just after the last input step pulse. Such a delay can also be set at 0.005 seconds or it can be set at 1 second, which helps in using a plug-on jumper.
Digital Electronic Damping Control – This helps in eliminating loss of torque and also various motor stalling condition when they are operated at the mid-range speed. Such an instability is quite a common phenomenon for the mechanical, magnetic and electronic stepping motor system.
The output current is switch selectable. It ranges from 5ARMS (7.1 APEAK in microstep mode) to 0.625 ARMS (0.88 APEAK in microstep mode). The drive which is present is known to supply phased currents in regulation. The voltage is between 24 and 75 VDC.
Plug-on jumpers are used in the device. It includes the step filter when enabled helps in rejecting the noise pulses on the step input which is quite less than 500 ns wide. It is useful in case the maximum step rate is 500 kHz. Enable sense allows polarity of enable input. As the jumper is installed, the input opto-isolator is driven to the enable drive.
