Product Description
The 5645-021 stepper motor drive is a Pacific Scientific electronic part. This manufacturer has been in the business of electronics part manufacture for many decades. They have a wealth of experience and expertise and have been consistently providing various industries with the best quality products that are built to last, built to perform and that comes at a cost-effective price. Like any other product from Pacific Scientific, the 5645-021 stepper motor fits the bill and meets all the standards one would expect to be met by Pacific Scientific.
This part can be used to control all of your bipolar two-phase step motors. It features an output current of between 5 and 8 amps/phase RMS. The factory default for these units is 5 amps/phase RMS with a nominal dc bus of 160 volts.
This unit like other units from this series includes a bipolar chopper drive, short circuit protection circuitry and mid-range instability control. All these features provide the unit with a number of benefits that make it the ideal choice for all your needs.
The bipolar chopper drive within the 5645-021 keeps the chopper frequency at 20 kHz while the internal power supply will operate at 115 volts of ac input. There is a full-wave bridge rectifier within the main motor supply. This can be found within a capacitive input filter that features an in-rush current-limiting feature. The drive is protected from overvoltage with its shunt regulator circuitry. During deceleration conditions, there may be a generation of excessive voltage which can cause damage. With the regulator working any excess energy that goes beyond 200 volts can be removed to protect the unit anything it has been connected to.
