Product Description
The 5630-039 is a stepper motor drive from Pacific Scientific. It is built with the high-quality standards you can expect from the manufacturer and is a very features rich unit. The product is created and set to a default of 5 amps/phase RMS.
This unit features a bipolar chopper drive which is what controls the motor current and chopper frequency. The unit is operated by an internal power supply which supplies 115 volts of ac input. On the main motor supply, you will find a full-wave bridge rectifier. The motor drive also features shunt regulator circuitry which protects through the removal of energy if there is a dc bus voltage over 200 volts.
The 5630-039 stepper motor drive is equipped with short circuit protection as well. If a short circuit occurs the fault lights will illuminate and the drive will latch off. This will prevent damage to the drive motor as well as to anything that it is currently connected to. It also features isolation circuitry for the isolation of all user signals. User signals that can be isolated include reset command lines, enable command lines, direction command lines and step command lines.
Another feature of the 5630-039 is mid-range instability control. This feature serves the purpose of eliminating torque loss as well as any stalling conditions when the unit is operating at mid-range speeds. When this function is enabled mid-range oscillations are damped. The switching of the output transistors can be advanced or delayed relative to the incoming pulse train.
The 5630-039 is capable of a step range of full steps to micro-steps from ½ to 1/125. The unit further features idle current reduction that helps to conserve when the motor is in dwell periods.
