Product Description
The 5000 Series Motor Drives by Pacific Scientific are efficient and intended to be run using smart drivers as part of their motion systems for achieving the best performance. This is done using drivers that have the required software which guarantees compatibility, reliability and easily accessible control.
The 5440 series drivers operate applying mains power rating of 120 volts AC and provide the necessary functionality of transforming the step as well as directional data and feeding the compatible motor winding power needed to drive the connected 2-phase bipolar stepper-motors giving a constant output of 5 amps per phase on a 65-volt DC bus. These drivers have been specifically created for Pacific Scientifics’ Sigmax range of stepper motors. They also work flawlessly other stepping motors having similar features. Special attention needs to be paid to the motor winding as it needs to match the output values of power as chosen by the driver package.
The basic design of 5440 drivers features of two main elements - the power supply unit and the driver itself. This macro device driver uses pulse width modulation to manage the motor electronically in an efficient manner. It also performs the function of a bipolar chopper modifying the winding currents by 20 kHz chopping frequency. Using special electronics the 5440 driver efficiently eradicates all mid-range frequencies generated as a result of magnetic, mechanical, or electronic nature of the design of the stepping motor. The stepper motors designed to work with the power supply of 7.1 Amps peak current, and an integral power of 5 Amps RMS, 65 Volts DC, has the user-rendered source power value of 18 up to 75 VDC. This Stepper Motor Driver gives the Functionality & compatible settings for the Indexer using mnemonic programming language.
