The 5410-012 is part of the 5000 Series of stepper motor drives. It has a NEMA 23 rating and is a very efficient motor drive. The 5000 series come with very high inertia and torque. This means that they are specifically designed for acceleration and speed with a power level of 2.5. These drives are fortified with an integral power supply of 35 Vdc. These stepper motor drives come with some remarkable features including improved torque linearity for highest peak torque ability. 500 Series also has an acceleration boost for sporadic duty applications along with smoother microstepping.
Other features include a 2-phase design for driver compatibility as well as rugged housingless square frame. These Pacific Scientific manufactured drives feature a broad range of winding and shaft configurations for high performance and numerous applications. The 500 Series also come with options for mounting an encoder provision for peak control. These stepper motor drives are very suitable for applications that need demanding motion at restrained speed. The module of the 5410-012 is a highly efficient bipolar chopper. It uses pulse width modulation to automatically control the winding currents of the motor. The drive allows for step pulse, current control inputs, direction, and supplies the right outputs to drive 2-phase stepping motors. The 3 logic signal inputs are optically separated, and the power stages are safeguarded against overheating.
