Product Description
The VAC5-D6 is an Okuma servo drive. VAC5 drives are available with either an analog interface or an optical interface. The VAC5-D6 includes an optical interface for receiving commands from the NC. Communication over fiber optics is highly reliable and also relies on simple cable infrastructure that facilitates troubleshooting. When connected to a power supply with 6 kVA power capacity, the VAC5-D6 delivers 3.7 kilowatts or 5 Horsepower. When connected to a power supply with 8 kVA power capacity, the VAC5-D6 delivers 5.5 kilowatts or 7.5 Horsepower. When connected to a power supply with 11 kVA power capacity, the VAC5-D6 delivers 7.5 kilowatts or 10 Horsepower. The drive is compatible with three-phase 220 Volts AC input and works at all voltages ranging from 180 to 220 Volts AC.
The input line frequency range that the VAC5-D6 supports is 49 to 62 Hertz. The drive includes a heat sink to for increasing the rate of heat dissipation. Foreign matter and dust can accumulate on the heat sink which can affect its performance. Therefore, Okuma recommends cleaning of the heat sink with a vacuum cleaner if the accumulation of dust and foreign matter becomes highly noticeable. Similarly, the fan guard and ventilation hole on the motor connected to the drive should be inspected and cleaned if required. Weight of the drive unit is 12 kilograms. The dimensions of the drive unit are as follows: 450 millimeters height, 170 millimeters width and 283 millimeters depth. Four M6 screws are required for mounting of the VAC5-D6 drive. Four holes are provided on the drive enclosure four mounting. Only properly trained and qualified personnel should install and operate the VAC5-D6 drive unit.
