Product Description
The VAC5-D11 is a VAC5 series servo drive from Okuma. It has been developed for industrial applications that require motor control. VAC5 drives are available with either an analog interface or an optical interface. The VAC5-D11 supports an optical interface and uses fiber optic cable for NC communication. The VAC5-D11 is the upgraded version of the VAC3-D11 drive. The drive unit displays operation/error status on the seven-segment LED display that is located on the front panel. The LED display has two working modes: normal operation mode and error status mode. For the error status mode, the cause of an alarm can be determined from the displayed error number. VAC5 drive units with firmware VAC4113 or later versions can display both the control and winding status in the normal operation mode.
To identify the firmware version, the front cover has to be removed and the stickers on the CPU board have to be located. The firmware version is printed on these stickers. The components of the VAC5-D11 drive are a power board, a CPU board, and a GD board. Weight of the unit is 20 kilograms. The approximate drive dimensions are 450 x 310 x 254 millimeters. Four M8 screws are required for mounting of the drive. The input of the VAC5-D11 is designed for three-phase 220 Volts AC. The output of the drive is dependent on the power capacity of the input power supply. The VAC5-D11 can deliver 11 kilowatts if connected to power supply with 16 kVA power capacity. The VAC5-D11 can deliver 15 kilowatts if connected to power supply with 22 kVA power capacity. The recommended ambient temperature range for drive operation is 0 to 55 degrees Celsius.
