Product Description
The VAC3-D6 is an industrial spindle drive. It is part of the VAC3 product line from Okuma. The drive output depends on the capacity of the input power supply. The output of the drive is 3.7 kilowatts / 5 Horsepower for supplies that can deliver 6 kVA power. The output of the drive is 5.5 kilowatts / 7.5 Horsepower for supplies that can deliver 8 kVA power. The output of the drive is 7.5 kilowatts / 10 Horsepower for supplies that can deliver 11 kVA power. The input to the VAC3-D6 is rated for nominal 220 Volts AC (three-phase) and supports 180 to 220 Volts AC. The components of the VAC3-D6 drive are a power unit, a CPU board, and a GD board. A fiber optic connection to the NC is used for sending commands to the drive.
The user of fiber increase’s reliability and simplifies cabling. The environment where drive is operated should be free of dust, oil, chips, or other foreign matter than could affect the functioning of the drive unit. During operation the drive can handle vibrations rated for maximum 0.5 G. The non-condensing relative humidity during normal operation should be less than or equal to 75%. The VAC3-D6 can handle relative humidity of up to 95% for a duration of time that does not exceed one month. The ambient temperature around the VAC3-D6 should be kept between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius during operation. The ambient temperature within the control cabinet in which the drive is mounted should be between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius. The ambient temperature recommended by Okuma for servo drive storage is -20 to 60 degrees Celsius.
