Product Description
Okuma is a world renowned engineering industrial giant, with a major share of the market under their ownership. The company mostly deals with CNC lathe and CNC machine tools, and also offers factory automation products and servomotors. With a strict control over their product quality, Okuma ensures that consumers receive exactly what they demand, with no compromises. Following their single source philosophy, they manufacture all hardware & software by themselves, giving a unique product design unlike any other market competitor.
MIV Inverter series is a series of inverter units designed to drive spindle motors and axis drive motors. A MIV unit operates by using a DC power supply with 300 VDC and 24 VDC. The unit communicates with its peripherals using the servo link, the encoder link and the converter link. It also comes with a built in control board that has specially crafted for motor control to control a spindle motor and an axis drive motor. There are generally two types of MIV units, one-axis specification which control one motor and two-axis specification that control two motors. A DC power supply can be connected to more than one MIV unit, if the user requires it for their applications.
The MIV04-1-B1 Okuma Inverter Unit features a BL motor/PREX motor, in combination with an ICB1 control board. In addition to the board, it also includes the firmware for ICB within the unit, so there is no need to obtain the firmware separately. The L side unit capacity for the inverter unit is 4 Kw, which is enough to readily operate the spindle motor and axis drive motor. The CNC control for the inverter unit offers closed-loop positioning via its position feedback system.
