MIV0103-1-B5 is one such servo drive produced by renowned company Okuma Corporation. The product consists of a MIV inverter which is specially designed to drive spindle and axis motors.

MIV0103-1-B5 receives signals from the control system of the machinery, amplifies the signal and supplies the electric current to the servo motor to perform its functions which can be speed adjustability, position adjustability or simple machine command. Coming to the control board, an ICB1 type controller board is installed inside MIV0103-1-B5 which is responsible for its effective functionality. There are many servo drives available in the market but the thing which separates MIV0103-1-B5 from similar products available in the market is its multi-axis system. MIV0103-1-B5 is capable of working in two axes i.e. M-axis with a capacity of 3KW and L-axis with a capacity of 1KW which results in increased machine productivity and improved accuracy.

MIV0103-1-B5 features a control rom of type 5. It should always be used with a circuit breaker switch or fuse to avoid burning of the unit in case of short circuit. The durability of the product is dependent upon its protection from water, dust, and other unfavorable environmental conditions. Thus the unit case is made up of plastic to protect the control board and other sensitive components from water and dust etc. Due to its mounted heat sink; the ambient operating temperatures of the MIV0103-1-B5 are higher than other servo drives of similar specifications. This allows the servo drive to be used in an extremely large set of conditions, making it one of the most versatile choices.
