Product Description
The BL4-D servo drive units are maintenance-type units, and they are designed by Okuma as re-worked versions of the conventional BL2-D drives from the same manufacturer.
The compatibility of a BL4-D type with a corresponding BL2-D servo drive is determined by its rating. For the BL4-D100A, which has a rating of 100A, the following BL2-D drives are compatible: BLII-D15A, BLII-D30A, BLII-D50A, BLII-D75A, BLII-D100A. Each of the conventional drives can be used with this maintenance drive through appropriate switching and jumper designation. To facilitate configuration options, the BL4-D100A is labelled for jumper and switch operations. The jumper is tagged as XB-DBR, while the switches can either be on or off in SW1 or SW2 mode. Essentially, the BL4-D servo drives are intended to reduce the bulk of automation via the integration of multiple servo-drives into one. Also, this makes the BL4-D versatile for driving a wide range of servomotors simply by switching to the appropriate configuration. For electrical requirements, this unit is powered by a 3-phase AC supply. The voltage is meant to range between 180-240 volts, and the frequency is also expected at 50/60Hz. As indicated by the naming convention, the BL4-D100A is a single-axis unit of the type-A category. This unit has a capacity of 100 and is mostly the incorporation of a control PC board and a power unit.
To confirm conformity with its corresponding drives, the operation of the BL4-D servo drive (in any of the BL2-D configuration) can be observed via an oscilloscope connected to the driven motor terminals. The outputs are rated as follows: It has a velocity command through a +/- 10V signal. This corresponds to a motor speed of around 3750min-1. The torque control is also limited to a 10V command.
