Product Description
Okuma is an American based Japanese company which provides solutions to a wide range of automation demands in industry. They are renowned for the top-notch performance of their products, especially as regards their flagship CNC machines. The design and production of the BL-D servo-amplifiers by this esteemed manufacturer, Okuma, is due to the rise of newer industrial applications of servomotors—for which their base servomotor line, the BL-series, would need to be enhanced. The BL-D50A servo-amplifier is designed to improve the closed loop control accuracy of its compatible servomotors.
The BL-D50A, as with other Okuma products, is a name code that describes a product specifications. As inferred, it is an A-type, single-axis unit servo-amplifier. By this, it can only control one attached servomotor per operation. The ‘50’ is a power unit capacity specification, which determines the kinds of servomotors it is compatible with. Based on this power rating, the BL-D50A is optimized to drive the following brushless servomotors: BL-MQ120E-20, BL-MS50E-30, BL-MS75E-20, BL-MQ80E-20, BL-MQ80E-30, BL-MH151E-12, BL-MH101E-20, BL-MH201E-12, BL-MH101E-30, BL-MH100E-30. Each motor is required to be connected to this servo-amplifier by conforming to a specified pattern of switching mechanism.
This is done by combining the activation or de-activation of any of the 8 SW switches available on the servo amplifier. Once connected, this servo amplifier operates the connected motor via current signals, sent via PWM. The advantage of this servo-amplifier is especially in its excellent acceleration and deceleration control, which ensures that the servomotor is at the exact control location as specified by the servo processor board. This prevents motor hunting and other steady state errors in the process control. The BL-D50A comes with a lot of protective features for its driven motor. This allows for a guaranteed and reliable performance with a long lifespan.
