The MIV30-3-V5 is an inverter system. It is manufactured by Okuma and is part of the MIV product line. The inverter is a 1-axis unit that can control one motor. The MIV30-3-V5 is designed for control of VAC motors. The control board on the unit is ICB3 and the control ROM type is 5. The purpose of the control board is to enable motor control. Along with a compatible power supply, the inverter forms an Okuma Motion Control System which can be used for a wide range of industrial applications. The inverter operates at 300 Volts DC input. The inverter requires a separate 24 Volts DC input for the control electronics. Okuma DC power supplies are designed to provide power to multiple inverter units and require 200 Volts AC input.
The MIV30-3-V5 is provided with three types of communication links that include servo link, encoder link and converter link. The inverter is designed for vertical mounting. Okuma has provided cooling fans on the unit for improved dissipation of heat that is generated during operation. The cooling fans are attached to the radiation plate that is attached to the back side of the unit. The continuous output rating of the MIV30-3-V5 is 30 kilowatts or 40 Horsepower. Mechanical specifications for the unit include 23 kilograms / 52.8 pounds weight and external dimensions at 380 x 300 x 325 millimeters. The XT2 terminal block is located on the font side of the MIV30-3-V5. The screw size required for connecting wires onto the terminal block is M10. The XT1 terminal block is also located on the font side of the unit and requires M6 screws for wires termination.
