Product Description
Users of the Japan-based Okuma brand are guaranteed the most innovative drive and motion control solutions available on the global drive market. Some of the products by the company are lathes, CNC controls, and machining centers. A group of motion control devices in its product catalog are the MIV series of inverter units. These inverters have their applications in servo axis uses and are combined with DC power supply units and spindle drives to form the Okuma Motion Control System (MCS).
The MIV0102A-1-B5 is one of the inverter models in the MIV series created by Okuma. It is used in connection with a DC power supply unit for servo axis uses such as driving spindle motors and axis drive motors. To enable it to perform its control function, it features a built-in control board, specifically the ICB1 inverter control board type. It also communicates with other components of the Okuma Motion Control System (MCS) through the servo link, the converter link, and the encoder link. The DC power supply unit connected to this inverter supplies 300V DC and a 24V DC for control power. Ideally, it should only be used with a BL servo motor model.
A 7-segment LED at the front of the MIV0102A-1-B5 displays the operating status of the motion control system. It also plays a diagnostic role with its alarm status display mode. Here, an error number with a specific meaning is shown on the LED display when there is a fault that needs to be fixed on the inverter unit. The other display mode of this 7-segment LED is the normal operation status display mode, and it indicates the general state of the device during its use.
