Product Description
Okuma’s product portfolio comprises a large variety of machine tools, factory automation devices, and motion control units. These include lathes, CNC controls, and machining centers. One of the classes of products created by the global giant for motion control is the MIV series of inverter units. The inverters in this series are designed for servo axes uses and in the control of the BL servo motors and the PREX servo motors. These two series are also created by Okuma.
The MIV0101A-1-B5 is an inverter unit designed and manufactured by Okuma in the MIV series. It is a component of the Okuma motion control system with its DC power supply unit. The primary function of this device is to drive spindle motors and axis drive motors, and it is equipped with an integrated control board for its control functions. This inverter is designed for the BL series of servo motors and has an ICB1 control board type. Its communication with other devices is done through a servo link, an encoder link, and a converter link. The compatible DC power supply unit of this inverter model supplies it with a 24V DC control voltage.
The operating status of the MIV0101A-1-B5 is indicated with 7-segment LEDs in front of the device. The LEDs are useful for diagnosing faults or errors and monitoring the overall state of the machine. Two display modes provide information on the inverter unit - the regular operation status display mode and the alarm status display mode. The alarm status display mode is specifically suited for alerting users in the case of faults. It does this by displaying error numbers that indicate the cause of the error.
