Product Description
Okuma is a manufacturer of drive control systems and motion control accessories.
The ER-JG-7200D is an absolute position encoder manufactured by the company. The device is used for the axis speed and position feedback. For lower digit positioning (0.0001), a multi-pole resolver (MPR) is provided with the absolute position encoder. The multipole resolver is also used for upper digit positioning (123.4560) as well. The MPR receives a 5kHz sine and cosine signal from the control in the absolute encoder. A clock signal (81.92 Mhz) is generated by the CNC control that is compared to the phase offset between the MPR feedback signal and the sine signal. The control counts the clock pulses per phase shift and this number is multiplied by the distance per pulse. There is a 360 ° offset between the sine signal and the MPR feedback signal every time the absolute position encoder turns 36 degrees. This makes for 16384 clock pulses per revolution.
The feedback signal is sent to the OSP control. The ER-JG-7200D absolute encoder is able to digitize the parallel pulse signals from the pulse type heads. The absolute encoder can be attached to the BL motor or can be used on the ATC magazines that are driven hydraulically. The encoder also contains a shaft with it and the casing around the encoder has a shaft sticking out. The D6 type encoders are only used on the DC servo axis systems. The axis servo systems use the E, F, and other types of encoders. The E and F type encoders have the ability to make 2048 revolutions per minute before turning back to zero.
