The E4809-045-112 OPUS 5000 is the main control board for the OSP 5000/5020. These control boards are used in different types of CNC lathes for advanced control applications. The OSP 5000 series family is consists of advanced motion control platforms with an integrated graphics function. The OSP series consists of newly developed highly precise digital servo technology. It is also provided with a 32-bit double architecture that drastically increases the machines’ cutting feed rate. The machine tools with OSP 5000 series consist of an NC operation panel, a machine operation panel, an option panel, and a pendant operation panel. The E4809-045-112 OPUS 5000 main control board consists of a main microprocessor and associated interfaces for data communication. This model is equipped with high performance Motorolla 6800 microprocessor that has a clock frequency of 15 MHz.
The E4809-045-112 OPUS 5000 main control board is able to control the bubble memory, the IC (ROM) memory, a slave processor, and interface circuits. If the system is to be expanded, then the local bus (ribbon cables) or a system bus (mother board or back pane) can be used. The 5000 series controls the MB circuit board and the CRT display is green in color. The controls belonging to the 5000-G series use the E4809-045-112 OPUS 5000 control board as well. These controls come with a color display and a graphics capability. The main board can also be pulled out of the OSP control in order to replace the battery pack.
