The VLM31E-AFNC-30 servo motor comes from the VLM series that consists of highly efficient servo motors for dynamic industrial environments. The motor adjusts the speed and position of the power shaft through a closed-loop feedback system. The feedback system works in conjunction with a Resolver that can detect minute differences in actual and programed vales of operational parameters. To re-adjust, the motor shaft, corrective sinusoidal signals are generated by the resolver. The motor has a 2.84 A standstill current at which the standstill torque is 1.96 Nm. The ideal temperature range for the servo motor is from 0 ᵒC to 40 ᵒC. From 40 ᵒC onwards to 50 ᵒC, there is a power de-rating at the rate of 1% per degree rise in temperature. The VLM31E-AFNC-30 has been designed to operate at different values of the mains voltage.
This model can operate at 115 V and 230 V mains voltage. The top speed of the servo motor at 230 V is 4000 rpm. At this speed, the motor produces 1.93 Nm torque, and 0.92 kW power can be extracted from its output shaft. The motor is lightweight and weighs only 3 kg. Despite being lightweight, the motor has a solid construction and complies with the IP 65 ingress protection standard. There is complete protection against the ingress of debris, dust particles, oils, and water jets. The VLM31E-AFNC-30 also complies with the climatic category 1K3. It can operate without any condensation in areas where the relative humidity is from 5% to 75%.
