Product Description
SS2000D6 is a Kollmorgen drive. It is part of the SS2000 series. The drive is used for stepper-motor control. SS2000 series drives are bipolar, two-phase chopper drives that use power MOSFETs and IGBTs. Through programming, they can be configured to operate stepper motors in full or half steps. The drives can also be programmed to operate stepper motors in microsteps ranging from 1/5 to 1/250. The maximum supported speed is full 10,000 steps per second. To reduce probability of electrical noise problems, control signals are optically isolated from the drive circuit. The drive is designed for AC input and accepts 90 to 132 Volts AC at 50/60 Hertz. The AC input draw is 7 Amps. Power dissipation of the drive is 50 Watts. The optimal operating temperature is 0 to 50 degrees Celsius.
The storage temperature is -40 to 75 degrees Celsius. The specified maximum altitude is 1000 meters. Weight of the drive unit is 2.95 kilograms and its dimensions are 97 x 142 x 244 millimeters. The drive unit must be mounted upright (vertical). For proper cooling, it is important to ensure that the cooling fins are vertical. To ensure unrestricted airflow around the drive, at least 2 inches spacing must be provided on all side of the mounted drive unit. Forced air cooling might be required to ensure ambient temperature is kept within specified limits. It is also important to keep the drive away from obvious noise sources. To protect against noise, Kollmorgen recommends using a metal enclosure for drive mounting. This helps to shield the drive and its wiring from external interference. If a metal enclosure is not used, at least 3 feet separation should be provided between the drive and other noise sources.
