Product Description
The Kollmorgen SS2000D3i is a motor positioning drive. Its dimensions are 273.8 x 59.2 x 151.8 millimeters. The weight of the drive is 3.94 pounds. The environmental specifications include 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit operating temperature, -40 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit storage temperature, 95% maximum non-condensing relative humidity and 10000 feet maximum altitude. The power supply on the SS2000D3i is designed for 90 to 132 Volts AC input. The supported AC line frequencies are 50 / 60 Hertz. The drive draws 5 Amps during operation. A fuse rated for 250 Volts / 8 Amps is installed on the device: if the fuse blows, the power supply on the drive will be prevented from energizing any of its outputs and the drive will not operate. Usually, the fuse blows because of an internal failure.
To ensure safety and retain the drive’s UL ratting, only the specified type of fuse must be used. The eight isolated digital inputs on the SS2000D3i are rated for 11.5 to 14 Volts DC at 100 milliamps. The inputs can work in sink mode or source mode. The four isolated digital outputs on the drive only work in sink mode. Serial port 1 on the SS2000D3i is configurable for RS-232 or RS-485 four-wire communication via a switch. Serial port 2 on the drive is RS-485 and is used for differential four-wire user communications. Kollmorgen recommends bench-testing the SS2000D3i drive and the motor before connecting them to the mechanical system or machine. Following this recommendation will enable users to gain familiarity with the drive and its programming. This will also prevent inadvertent damage that may be caused by any programming errors that cause unexpected motion.
