The Kollmorgen S7720F-SEF2-S3 is a digital servo amplifier that should be grounded on a conductive surface. The product is intended to be used for industrial applications. If it is used in small industrial operations, additional filter measures should be implemented for safety reasons. The device should be installed only in machines that meet the requirements of the EC Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, and national directives, if any. This unit must be transported only by qualified personnel in the original recyclable packaging of Kollmorgen. Care should be taken to ensure that shocks are avoided while transporting.

If the packaging of the S700 digital servo amplifier is damaged, the product must be checked for visible damage. In the event of such damage, the user should immediately inform the shipper and the manufacturer. DRIVEGUI.EXE is the setup software of the product. It is user-friendly and the software can be set up through the serial interface of a PC. The device has an integrated position controller equipped with adaptation possibilities for all applications. There is a Stop function that is used to shut down the machine when it is in normal operation. IEC 60204 specifications define the Stop functions.

The STO function of the S700 digital servo amplifier should not be used if the servo amplifier is to be made inactive for long inoperative periods; cleaning, maintenance, and repair operations; or Emergency-stop situations. The current rating of the unit is 72 Arms. The first slot of the unit features the SERCOS II expansion card. The bus system of SERCOS II has a ring topology, equipped with fiber optical cables. There is a nameplate attached to the unit’s side for identification.
