The S7720F-PBF2-PM is a digital servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen under ideal production conditions. The servo amplifier is intended to operate in combination with synchronous, asynchronous, and DC motor series, it ensures the accurate control of the speed, position, and torque output of these industrial servo motors. The operation of this industrial servo amplifier is designed to be very easy and straight forward, however it is still important to ensure that only well-trained engineers who are familiar with Kollmorgen products are allowed to handle the device. The S7720F-PBF2-PM servo amplifier is a maintenance free device and it is delivered as a standard device, operators should avoid any physical modification of the amplifier as this will void the warranty covering the device and will make the certifications of the device invalid.

Unlike convectional industrial machines, the S7720F-PBF2-PM servo amplifier features several integrated safety measures, these include safe torque off, phase-failure monitoring, and overtemperature detection. The rated supply voltage of the servo amplifier during operation is about 208 to 480 volts, the amplifier also operates with an input current of 50 kilovolts amperes for continuous operation. The current rating of the servo amplifier is 72 amperes while the maximum output current is 140 amperes.

During operation, the S7720F-PBF2-PM servo amplifier does not generate a noise pressure that exceeds 68 decibels, this noise pressure is still further reduced by the Fan controller integrated servo expansion card which reduces the speed of the built-in fan in the servo amplifier depending on the temperature in the control cabinet. The servo amplifier features a 3-character LED display, operators can use this display to monitor the operation of the servo amplifier in real time.
