The Kollmorgen S7720F-FBF2-PA is a versatile digital servo amplifier designed to be an integral component of an electrical machine. The device has a voltage rating of 208 to 480 V. Coated PCBs are its electrical/mechanical option. The unit has the FB-2to1 expansion module in the first slot and a fan controller in the second slot. The FB-2to1 extension card enables the connection of digital primary and analog secondary feedback to the connector X1 at the same time. The 24V DC auxiliary voltage supply to X33 gets converted on this card into an accurate 5V DC encoder supply for secondary feedback.

The S700 digital servo amplifier has an in-built fan for cooling. The device can be mounted in a vertical position. It should be placed on a conductive surface. The product must always be operated within a closed control cabinet and proper ventilation should be ensured within the cabinet. Care should be taken to ensure that the temperature in the cabinet is below 40°C. If the unit gets overheated, it can cause damage to property and injury to people. Only copper conductors should be used for wiring the servo amplifier. The software used to set up the device is DRIVEGUI.EXE.

The servo amplifier comprises electrostatically sensitive components, which may be damaged in the case of incorrect handling. The device must not come into contact with extremely insulating materials like artificial fabrics and plastic films. There is a risk of electrical arcing when disconnecting the connectors of the unit because capacitors can still hold dangerous voltages for up to 8 minutes after turning off the main power supply. The product should not be modified without permission from the manufacturer.
