Product Description
The S7720A-SNF2-PA is a digital servo amplifier from Kollmorgen. It comes with extended functionality. The device should be operated only within a closed control cabinet, considering the ambient operating conditions of the servo amplifier. It should be noted that the unit cannot be installed and operated in potentially explosive areas like environments with corrosive and/or electrically conductive acids, oils, alkaline solutions, vapors, or dust. Only qualified personnel are allowed to transport the device in the original recyclable packaging provided by the manufacturer. The maximum transport humidity of the product is 95% without condensation.
The rated input power of the S700 digital servo amplifier for continuous operation is 50 kVA. The device has a permitted switch on/off frequency of 30 1/h. The product contains electrostatically sensitive components, which when handled incorrectly, can be damaged. In non-industrial environments, the servo amplifier can cause high-frequency interference. The interference can be suppressed by measures like implementing additional external EMC filters. The unit has an adjustable digital speed controller. The ambient temperature at which the product can be operated is between 0°C and +40°C under rated conditions.
The S700 digital servo amplifier has an Emergency Off function that is meant for switching off the machine’s electrical power supply. The functional aspects of Emergency Off are mentioned in IEC 60364-5-53 specifications. The equipment generates high electric voltages of up to 900 V. It is crucial to ensure that the product is safely earthed to the PE busbar in the switch cabinet. Without low-resistance earthing, personal protection cannot be ensured and there is a danger of death from electric shock. The leakage current from the unit to PE is over 3.5 mA.
