The Kollmorgen S7720A-SEF2-PM is a digital servo amplifier meant for driving suitable brushless synchronous servomotors, DC motors, and asynchronous motors with control of speed, torque, and/or position. The device should be operated only within a closed control cabinet. The first slot of the unit is equipped with the Sercos II expansion module. Its bus system has a ring topology and it incorporates fiber optical cables. The third slot has the Posl/O extension card. This card provides an additional Sub-D connector (X5).

Commissioning the S700 digital servo amplifier is banned if the machine in which it is installed fails to fulfill the requirements of the EC Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, or EMC Directive. If the packaging of the product is damaged, the user must check the amplifier for visible damage. If there is damage, the shipper and the manufacturer must be informed. The device has electrostatically sensitive parts that are prone to damage from inappropriate handling. The unit comes with a built-in fan equipped with a protective grill. Only 60°C or 75°C copper wires should be used for wiring the S700 digital servo amplifier. The device has a digital current controller.
