The Kollmorgen S7720A-NAF2-PA is a digital servo amplifier intended for driving compatible servomotors with control of speed, torque, and/or position. The product has excellent autotuning, fast setup, and cogging suppression capabilities. The unit should be operated only in a closed control cabinet, considering the ambient operating conditions mentioned in the product manual. Cooling or ventilation is mandatory to keep the temperature inside the cabinet below 40°C. Only copper conductors must be used for wiring the servo amplifier. The conductor cross-sections may be derived from the standard IEC 60204 specifications.

Commissioning the S700 digital servo amplifier is prohibited if the machine or plant in which it is installed does not fulfill the requirements of the EMC Directive, EC Machinery Directive, or Low Voltage Directive. The maximum transport humidity of the device is 95% without condensation. The product must not come into contact with highly insulating materials. The unit should be stored only in Kollmorgen’s original recyclable packaging. The dirt inside the device should be cleaned by the manufacturer. The dirt on the protective grill on the fan can be cleaned using a dry brush.

The S700 digital servo amplifier is not equipped with motor over-temperature sensing. DRIVEGUI.EXE is the setup software for the device. The unit has a digital current controller. The product has a 3M1 Vibration Class as per IEC 60721-3-3 specifications. The servo amplifier incorporates the built-in safety function STO, which can be used to turn off the drive. This ensures functional safety at the drive shaft. There is an Emergency Off function that is used to turn off the machine’s electrical power supply. This protects users from any danger from electrical energy.
