The Kollmorgen S7720A-DNF2-PA is a digital servo amplifier in the S700 series that is intended for use in industrial environments. The device can directly control a 24V holding brake in the motor. It uses a special 24V supply voltage (X9B). The amplifier can directly control brakes with up to 3 A. It should be noted that the user should not mount devices that generate magnetic fields near the product because strong magnetic fields can directly affect the internal parts. The device must not be modified without permission from Kollmorgen. Opening the housing of the unit causes a loss of warranty.

If the warning signs attached to the housing of the S700 digital servo amplifier are damaged, they should be replaced without any delay. The recommended tightening torque of the grounding bolt of the device is 3.5 Nm. It must be noted that excessively high external fusing might endanger the cables and devices. If the motor cables are longer than 25m, it may be necessary to use a motor choke (3YLN) depending on the system. The ambient operating temperature of the unit is between 0°C and 40°C under rated conditions. The product’s residual voltage drop is 6 V at rated current. The maximum noise emission of the unit is 68 dB (A).

In case of overheating, the S700 digital servo amplifier will switch itself off. The user should not touch the live sections of the equipment or remove any connections immediately after disconnecting the device from the main supply power. Only well-qualified personnel are allowed to perform tasks like transport, setup, assembly, and maintenance. The qualified personnel should know and follow the IEC 60364 / IEC 60664 specifications as well as the national accident prevention regulations.
