S7480A-PNF2-PM is a Kollmorgen servo amplifier. It is part of the S700 series of digital amplifiers. The amplifier is designed for three-phase input at 208 to 480 Volts AC. It can be connected directly to the AC mains, as long as the mains supply is grounded. An isolation transformer can be used if the mains supply is ungrounded. The S7480A-PNF2-PM requires 35 kVA input for continuous output. Rated current output of the amplifier is 48 Amps rms, and the peak output is 96 Amps rms. The peak output is sustainable for 5 seconds. S700 amplifiers have a modular design with three expansion slots. All three slots on the S7480A-PNF2-PM amplifier are occupied by factory-installed expansion cards. Slot 1 is occupied by a Profinet card, slot 2 is occupied by a fan control card, and slot 3 is occupied by a position I/O card.

S700 amplifiers feature integrated support for Ethernet and CANopen interfaces. RS-232 serial is also available for communicating with computers running the setup software. An onboard LED display and keypad can also be used for configuration. A memory card slot allows backup of the firmware and operating parameters on a memory card. In case of amplifier malfunction or failure, the backups on the memory card allow fast commissioning of replacement units. Kollmorgen recommends 0 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature for amplifier operation. Higher temperatures cause derating of the amplifier output. The recommended storage temperature is -25 to 55 degrees Celsius. Weight of the amplifier is 10.4 kilograms and its dimensions are 390 x 600 x 400 millimeters. Only qualified personnel with proper training and experience should be involved in S700 series amplifier operations.
