S7480A-NAF2-PA is a high-performance digital servo amplifier. It is part of Kollmorgen?s S700 product line. The amplifier supports several integrated features, such as dual-channel safe torque off, Ethernet for SynqNet and EtherCAT connectivity, RS-232 for computer communication, memory card slot, multiple feedback evaluation options, and three expansion card slots. Optional features can be added via expansion cards installed in the expansion card slots. Operators can include expansion cards in the equipment order or order them later and install the cards in the field. The S7480A-NAF2-PA is equipped with two factory-installed expansion cards. A fan control card is installed in slot 2. S700 amplifiers are equipped with an internal fan that creates maximum 62 dB sound during operation. The fan control card is used in applications where control over the noise emissions of the internal cooling fan is required.

The card monitors the ambient temperature and the temperature of the heat sink. Depending on predefined thresholds, the fan control card either turns the fan off, reduces its speed to 50% of peak speed, or runs it at peak speed. Slot 3 on the S7480A-NAF2-PA is equipped with a position I/O monitor card. Input voltage range of the amplifier is 208 to 480 Volts AC. Three-phase input is required for normal operation. Single-phase input can be used during setup. Operators can use the setup software to configure the amplifier. Operators can also use the LED display and keypad for configuration. Rated output of the amplifier is 48 Amps rms and the peak output is 96 Amps. Protection rating of the amplifier housing is IP20. Kollmorgen has designed the unit for vertical mounting. Only trained personnel should work on the amplifier.
