S7480A-FBF2-PM is a S700 series digital servo amplifier. It is designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. It incorporates onboard Ethernet connectivity for use with EtherCAT and SynqNet. Legacy bus support is available for PROFINET, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS DP, SERCOS II via expansion cards. Dual-channel Safe Torque Off (STO) function is standard, and other safety functions can be added. Additional features include optimized resolver interface, auto tuning, cogging suppression and the fastest feedback evaluation on the market. With three expansions card slots, S700 amplifiers provide a lot of flexibility to operators looking to match amplifier features to applications requirements. Operators can connect S700 amplifiers directly to grounded AC mains operating at 208 to 480 Volts AC (three-phase, 50/60 Hertz). Rated output current of the S7480A-FBF2-PM amplifier is 48 Amps rms. This output is available over the entire input voltage range.

The peak output current is 96 Amps, which the output of the amplifier can sustain for 5 seconds. The amplifier requires 35 kVA input power for continuous output. All three expansion card slots on the unit are occupied. A position I/O card is installed in slot 3. A fan control card is installed is slot 2. S700 units support an internal cooling fan, which can create up to 62 dB of noise emissions during operation. Based on ambient and heat sink temperature thresholds, the F2 fan control card can reduce the speed of the fan or turn it off. This card is used to manage noise emissions of the cooling fan on S700 units. A feedback expansion card is installed in slot 1 on the S7480A-FBF2-PM amplifier. This card enables simultaneous connection of a digital primary and of an analog secondary feedback to the X1 connector.
