S7480A-EIF2-S3 is a digital servo amplifier. It is designed and produced by Kollmorgen. The amplifier belongs to the S700 series. S700 amplifiers support dual-channel safe torque off. Three expansion card slots allow installation of optional expansion cards for added functionality. A memory card slot allows backup of firmware and operating parameters on a memory card. An Ethernet interface allows connectivity with EtherCAT and SynqNet networks. A serial RS-232 interface is also available on the unit. This interface enables communication with computers running the setup software. S700 amplifier can be configured with the keypad on each unit. A setup software ? available on the manufacturer website and on a CD-ROM provided with each amplifier ? can also be used for configuration. Rated output of the S7480A-EIF2-S3 amplifier is 48 Amps rms.

The peak output is 96 Amps. Input voltage range for the S7480A-EIF2-S3 is 208 to 480 Volts AC. The rated output is constant over the entire input voltage range. Thermal dissipation of the amplifier is 24 Watts with output stage disabled. Thermal output of the unit varies with input voltage, and is greater at higher input voltages. Three expansion cards are installed on the unit. These include an I/O expansion card, a fan control card and a safety card. Operators can include the expansion cards in the equipment order. Operators can also order expansion cards separately and install them in the field. Some expansion cards ? such as the fan control card ? can only be installed at the factory. A nameplate is attached to each S700 amplifier. Information listed on the nameplate allows identification of the equipment. Operators and staff must check information listed on the nameplate at the time of delivery.
